During the year, the Spanish students will learn to more effectively read, write, listen, speak, and critically think.  They will also explore a variety of aspects of the Hispanic cultures.  The vocabulary that is emphasized during the second year includes the people, places, and activities of one’s daily life.  For example, the students will learn how to describe their families, celebrations, clothing, their homes, and their communities.  They will learn vocabulary to describe their daily routines including meal times in and out of the home.  By the conclusion of the year, the students will learn a variety of verb tenses so that they can talk about people and events in the past, present, and future.
